Fees, Ski Rental, Amenities, etc.

Until recently, the only cost to ski the ASP Art Roscoe Trails was a per-car charge levied upon entry to the park. However, due to the recent budget crisis in NYS, no gate fees are being collected at this time (yes, you read that correctly). This is subject to change at any time and you should not expect this policy to continue.
RENTAL EQUIPMENT & RATES
Rental skis and snow shoes are available at two locations in the park: 1) Red House Gift Shop at the Administration Building; and 2) Summit Mountain Shop located at the Art Roscoe X-C area. Both locations are operated by a private concessionaire, J-Con Parks.
Subject to weather and trail conditions, the summit location is generally open Saturdays and Sundays, 9:00-5:00.
Rentals at the Gift Shop location are generally available Friday-Sunday, 9:30-4:30. Additional availability may be possible if weather permits. Please call 716.354.9163 or 716.354.9121 in advance to be certain the rental locations will be open.
The following prices will apply for the 2008-09 season:
SKis-Boots-Poles $18.00
Skis only $9.50
Boots only $6.50
Poles only $3.50
Snowshoes-Boots-Poles $12.50
Mastercard, Visa, Amex and Novous credit cards are accepted.
Reminder: Snow shoes are not permitted on the Art Roscoe Trails, which are groomed and tracked for skiing in the winter. There are numerous other locations in the park that are suitable for snow shoeing. The rental staff can share these locations with you.
WARMING HUT
A warming hut is located at the summit access location of the Art Roscoe Trails. It has two unisex bathrooms, a living room-size area with tables and chairs for changing boots, resting and eating. Electrical outlets are available for crock pots. Ski waxing is not advisable in the hut.
REFRESHMENTS
A refreshment counter (Summit Mountain Shop) is operated in the warming hut by a private concessionaire. Subject to weather and trail conditions, it is open Saturdays, Sundays & holidays, 9:00-5:00. It offers hot drinks, soda, soups, hot dogs and snacks. Some winter clothing items and waxes are aslo available.
