Park closing rally at Quaker Lake March 13th
Posted: March 2nd, 2010 | Author: Andy Dickson | Filed under: Uncategorized | 2 Comments »Senator Catharine Young is sponsoring a rally at the Bath House of the Quaker Lake area of Allegany State Park on Saturday March 13th at noon to protest Gov. Paterson’s call to close Long Point State Park and reduce services at Allegany State Park. 2010-2011 Proposed service reductions at ASP include elimination of winter trail maintenance (grooming) on the Art Roscoe Trails.
This will be an excellent opportunity to draw attention to the excellent cross country skiing program at ASP that we have worked hard to maintain and improve in the last few years.
Plan to ski at ASP that day and head over to Quaker Lake before or after your ski. Bring your skis or a sign to Quaker so that there is no doubt why we are there.
